Shelley Kyne
Professional Sport and Dance
Shelley dedicated 15 years to her career as a professional dancer before transitioning into soft tissue therapy, combining her deep understanding of movement with a passion for injury prevention and rehabilitation. After working as a personal trainer, she chose to specialise in supporting dancers, athletes, and the wider public through advanced therapeutic practice.
She holds a Level 5 Diploma in Remedial Soft Tissue and Sports Massage Therapy from NLSSM, where she gained not only technical expertise but also invaluable insights into professional practice and client care. Shelley has since established a thriving private practice, running clinics in Tottenham and Elephant & Castle, and offering home visits across London, Essex, and Hertfordshire. She also gained valuable experience working within the multidisciplinary team at Complete Physio, collaborating closely with physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care for a diverse range of clients.
Shelley has provided soft tissue therapy for world renowned productions, including an annual engagement with Cirque du Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall and with the healthcare team for Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake via Production Physiotherapy and has been recently appointed a soft tissue role within the healthcare team at The Royal Ballet Company, providing treatments to their company of 100 dancers.
Alongside this, she supports students at London Studio Centre, helping dancers across musical theatre, jazz, contemporary, and ballet as they begin their professional careers. Shelley also works with elite athletes, including the Northern Superchargers cricket team, GB Women’s Tag Rugby, British Canoeing, and Tottenham Hotspur Women’s Football Club.
Passionate about education, Shelley lectures in soft tissue therapy at London Contemporary Dance School (The Place), providing regular treatments to their BA and MA students. Through her work, Shelley continues to combine her passion for movement, performance, and holistic care, helping dancers and athletes achieve their full potential.
