Being able to access the shoulder in its entirety can be a challenge.
One of the areas I always had difficulty working with was the anterior portion of the scapula without causing a lot of discomfort to my client.
Now when I work I get comments like these; ‘wow that is deep but it feels so good’, or ‘No one has ever been able to get to that spot before, it feels amazing’.

Assess and Treat
This course will show you classical assessment skills using a variety of movement tests.
We will concentrate on what I fervently believe should be our main focus; manual therapy, palpation, and soft tissue skills.
The focus will be on seamlessly integrating our advanced skills into our massage, rather than being the main event.
Learn about different pathologies
The course covers a variety of common pathologies and how to treat them effectively, such as Frozen Shoulder, Impingement and Rotator Cuff Tears
I offer creative suggestions that will bring a fresh approach to each treatment. Apply your techniques with ease and confidence, and make a real difference to your clients.

- Learn a variety of classical movement tests and how to interpret and use visual assessment skills
- Be able to use your hands-on palpation skills as a comprehensive assessment tool and integrate your assessment into your treatment

- Integrate and maximize positions using counterforce to increase your effectiveness

The pre-requirement is that you have an existing qualification in massage therapy and are aged 18+. If you are unsure if this is a suitable workshop for you then please get in touch with us at cassandra@nlssm.com.
This course runs alongside our Level 5 Diploma course. You will be joining an existing diploma for this workshop and working with our students training for a BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Sports Massage and Remedial massage Therapy.
We provide everything you need for your training, including massage couch, towels, lotions etc.
You will need to bring your own lunch with you, or you can visit one of the nearby shops/cafes.
Yes! This course day is practical, and you will be treating another student in the course/being treated yourself.
Please wear something that you are comfortable in, and can move about freely in. You will be treating others/being treated yourself, so please choose something that is appropriate for this.
Most students choose to wear activewear/sportswear.
We recommend to leave any jewellery at home, as it will need to be removed before treating.
