Ruth McNulty
Private Clinic & Dance
Ruth feels incredibly lucky to have trained at NSCD as a dancer. Coming to dance very late Ruth found the full time training incredible but her lack of foundation meant her body needed support to keep up with the level of intensity. Massage really helped that journey and this is where her interest began.
Finding herself injured in her finals, the confusing and conflicting diagnosis from different professionals, physio, doctor and osteo fed her passion for understanding the anatomy and what’s behind the movement she always loved. This gave her the push to re-train and to understand anatomy and injury and to learn to support others finding their freedom in movement and comfort.
After graduating from NSCD Ruth went on to do a level 3 qualification in Manchester that left her feeling she needed to go further with her leaning. This was when she found NLSSM and embarked on the Level 5 Diploma which far exceeded all previous training. Ruth thoroughly enjoyed the learning environment and the focus on learning to work with the nervous system, not beat it up!
Upon moving to Australia Ruth was able to secure work with the highly respected Bruce Lang at Sydney Osteopathy, as his massage assistant in treatment. Additionally she enjoyed working and training with the physios at Advanced Therapy.
After returning home to England Ruth reopened Movement Matters. 6 yrs later Ruth is now taking on staff who are also training with NLSSM!
Ruth will tell you the best thing about our job is the continuous learning and puzzling. NLSSM has given Ruth the knowledge and skills to work within her remit, puzzle and find ways to manipulate soft tissue and the nervous system. This helps to support clients to move more freely and comfortably, whether it be for life or to enhance their sporting abilities.
