AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
- Understand the mechanisms of soft tissue dysfunction as relevant to ROM.
- Understand the physiological effects and proposed benefits of flexibility training/treatment intervention.
- Introduce the various methodologies/techniques used and available to the therapist for facilitation of ROM
- Understand the limiting constituent factors of joint ROM.
- Learn how to administer Muscle Energy stretches as homecare
- Be able to treat using flexibility techniques specific to physiological requirements.
- Understand the mechanisms of soft tissue dysfunction as relevant to ROM.
- Understand and identify correct procedure and rationale.
- Understand and identify limitations to ROM using Joint Assessment Techniques.
- Follow through a visual assessment to testing and choose appropriate techniques.
- Understand the differences between corrective exercise, functional training and stretching.

ABOUT THE TUTORS
This course is taught by a passionate team of NLSSM teachers who are highly qualified in their fields of expertise and have successful careers in sports massage and remedial soft tissue therapy.
They’re trained in the art of teaching and bring to the course different experiences from a variety of supporting skills. The delivery of the course is further enhanced by the application of accelerated learning techniques in order to assist students in absorbing more.

This workshops can be taken on it’s own, however, we recommend our Muscle Energy Technique (MET) days, as well as Postural Assessment which will add substantially to your skill set. Please find details of all our CPD courses here.

This course runs alongside our Level 5 Diploma course. You will be joining an existing diploma for this workshop and working with our students training for a Level 5 in Sports Massage and Remedial massage Therapy.
We provide everything you need for your training, including massage couch, towels, lotions etc.
You will need to bring your own lunch with you, or you can visit one of the nearby shops/cafes.
Yes! This course day is practical, and you will be treating another student in the course/being treated yourself.
Please wear something that you are comfortable in, and can move about freely in. You will be treating others/being treated yourself, so please choose something that is appropriate for this.
Most students choose to wear activewear/sportswear.
We recommend to leave any jewellery at home, as it will need to be removed before treating.
