"If you want a diploma in sports massage that is recognised & respected by employers & professional bodies then take this course.
I had no previous massage experience but I was given all the necessary skills & confidence to start work as soon as I graduated in December 2006. Infact I quickly got a position at a sports injury clinic based on my knowledge & techniques & now sports massage is my full-time job. The NLSSM are very supportive after you graduate & this is very reassuring. You get the feeling that they care about you & your career path even when you are not booked on their courses!
I would thoroughly recommend the NLSSM."

"Being absolutely new to the massage industry I was not sure of which course to choose. After visiting many colleges and talking to lots of people I was recommended the NLSSM, and boy I was not disappointed. With no previous massage experience and English not my first language (let's not forget all of those Latin words in anatomy and physiology), I was a little bit apprehensive that this could end up in disaster. Changing career is not easy thing to do! All those worries vanish once you meet the team of tutors lead by Susan Findlay. The way this course is constructed allows you to carry on with your day job, obviously until you qualify with the well recognised BTEC/Edexel level 4 diploma. Then you just want to get out there and help everyone with their ailments or just let them relax under your hands. NLSSM provides you with all the specialist techniques necessary for proper remedial bodywork (friction, soft tissue release, muscle energy technique and neuromuscular technique). And that is not all; it covers extras subjects such as postural assessment, biomechanics, business mastery and nutrition to name a few. The support from the NLSSM to become a real pro during the course is endless, from work experience at the top sports clubs, big sports events such as the London Marathon to other job opportunities, which I found very professional and reassuring.
When you graduate, the team at the NLSSM ensures that you are not on your own and are more than happy to answer and help with any issues you come across. How they do this is beyond me! Without a doubt NLSSM was the best career move I've ever made. Now I get experienced practitioners asking me for advice and help. It has to be the best course in town and I could not be happier! ALL CREDIT and THANKS to the team at the NLSSM."

"I researched Sports Massage colleges a lot before I chose NLSSM and I'm so glad I took the effort as it was the perfect choice for me. I had no knowledge of massage at all before I started the course, but as soon as I finished I began working as a self-employed Sports Massage Therapist and my business is getting better and better. With the enthusiam of the teachers and the well-balanced mixture of practical and theory I found myself really enjoying the course and looking forward to the next session. This course gave me the confidence and knowledge I needed to be able to set up on my own, which I never imagined I would be able to do."

"This course is a must for anyone thinking of going into Sports and Remedial Massage. If you have any doubts they are soon gone. The course helps to understand what the job will be about and what to expect. The tutors are first rate and the course is great fun."

"The NLSSM diploma course includes teaching of all the specialist techniques necessary for proper remedial bodywork (friction, soft tissue release, muscle energy technique and neuromuscular technique). When I was carrying out research as to which was the best course to prepare me for a career in professional massage, I quickly realised that most other courses do not cover all these techniques or fail to teach them to the required level.
The NLSSM course also includes rigorous training in anatomy and physiology, vital knowledge when treating the wide variety of injuries and conditions encountered when practicing professionally. Having graduated with an NLSSM diploma six months ago, I feel very confident with the skills I have gained and have had great success in relieving my clients' muscular pains. Furthermore, I have found the qualification to be well respected by chiropractors, osteopaths and others in the field of natural therapies.
Yes, there are easier and quicker ways to gain the title of "Sports Massage Therapist", but I believe this course gives the most thorough grounding for a career in therapeutic massage. NLSSM also provides a wide range of courses for continuing professional development."

"The NLSSM course is a dynamic, exciting, continually evolving course run to extremely high standards by people who love what they do! I received generous support before, during and after the course. I never had to wait long for a response to my questions and felt very well looked after throughout. I thoroughly researched sports massage courses before enrolling with NLSSM and chose carefully. I'm happy to say I was not disappointed! I really can't stress enough the high quality of the teaching as well as the supportive and encouraging climate that exists for graduate NLSSM students.
Considering this course?......Don't think about it......Do it!"

"From a professional point of view I can say that the NlSSM Sports Massage diploma empowers one with the right set of tools to take one's therapy practise to the next level - it has definitely added a whole new dimension to my business and my life generally, the positive feedback from my clients alone is proof of that. The course is well worth the financial and personal commitment for the rewards gained are ten fold in so many ways. One would be hard pressed to find the same degree of 1:1 attention and quality of teaching elsewhere and least of all the new found friendships and networking base established during the year is wonderful. On a more personal note, I have not yet found another form of massage which has been able to put my own health issues to rights so heartfelt thanks to everyone at NLSSM for what you are doing and may the school go from strength to strength."

"I chose the course at NLSSM to get a strong foundation in general massage and in treating injuries and chronic conditions helped by massage. I got both of these. The course was a revelation - about how the body works and how it can be enabled through massage. And it was a challenge for me personally - in my 40s I had been a manager in the health service for years - could I cut it? I was scared at first but grew in skills and confidence during the course and got my first massage job 2 days after the exam. Was it worth it? It is fab getting the immediate feed back from clients and knowing you can make a difference."

"As someone who finds academic learning quite challenging it is so refreshing to find a group of 'trainers' who address every learning style including my own. In my current occupation of IT Manager I am also a qualified trainer, and therefore aware of how a course should be put together, so finding a group of tutors and lecturers that design their courses in a way which makes learning interesting and easier to take in, has meant I have found some of the more in-depth and complicated subjects much less daunting, and am amazed at my level of knowledge compared with just a few months ago when I started."

"For my part - I am really, really glad I am doing this course; it is intense and a lot of work and starting from almost scratch in some areas is quite tough for me - but I am getting a fantastic palette of highly effective tools and, just as important, a wonderful sense of freedom of approach'.. am groping for the right words here - and don't want to sound too 'inner child'!
For me, the 'non-prescriptive', no 'one-size-fits-all' approach makes so much sense, it's natural, and gives me a freedom to work with each person very specifically on the basis of their particular problems / needs and I don't feel restricted or limited, even though I'm working from, and within, a very disciplined framework."
Stella (student)
"This is a brilliant course, not only do you learn all the important elements required in sports massage but additional help can be obtained. This course is more expensive than others however it is extremely worth it as the class ratio to tutors is brilliant so you always get the attention required. The tutors are inspiring and all have a great deal of knowledge and experience. Tutorials are always available, other students are friendly and helpful. Another good factor is there is always someone to talk to if you need help. Previous graduates, tutors numbers and emails are there for help, as well as online facilities. A close network is available once graduated for work experience. Definitely the best course around for professionalism and a friendly environment to gain all the skills you need."
