What do the following abbreviations stand for?
1. TFL - Transport for London (or tensor fascia lata)
2. TVA - transversus abdominus
3. VMO - vastus medialis obliqus (the bit most distal and medial of the VM - it has a stabilising effect on the patella and is often the first part of the muscle to atrophy and the last to recover as it's only used in the last 10-15' of knee extension)
4. OA - Osteoarthritis or Occipito-Atlanto (Joint) - i.e. where your head joins your neck.
5. CT - Cervico-Thoracic (Joint) C7 & T1
6. CD - The same thing as 5. Some people call the thoracic spine the dorsal spine.
7. TL - Thoraco-Lumbar (Joint) T12 & L1
8. LS - Lumbo-Sacral Joint (L5 & S1)
9. SI - Sacro-Iliac Joint
10. SP - Spinous Process (of a vertebra)
11. TP - Transverse process (of a vertebra)
12. ITB - Ilio-Tibial Band
13. ITT - Ilio-Tibial Tract
