Sports Massage 23 Day Course - Key Facts

The BTEC 4 or 5 Sports Massage Diploma

Both diplomas are designed for anyone with a serious interest in pursuing sports massage therapy as a career. It takes approximately 11 months to complete the course, during which time you will attend classes and undertake significant home study and hands on practice.

BTEC 4 and 5 are professional qualifications and this is a demanding course that requires at least a basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology. If you don’t have any experience, we highly recommend taking the NLSSM two-day sports massage introductory course and/or the two day-day Anatomy and Physiology course which brings together all the relevant information that you will need in your practice as a sports massage therapist.

Syllabus

Classes are held approximately every 2 weeks, to allow enough time for home practice and course work. Course work includes 4 papers; an extensive case history; and 100 logbook hours before the final exam can be taken.  For further information about the course content please go to the syllabus section of the website.

Level 4 or 5?

It is your choice whether to study for Level 4 or 5 sports massage diploma, you have the option to complete the level 5 without having to do level 4 first. Taught classes are the same for each but your course work and final exam questions will be different. See here for an explanation of the main differences between the two sports massage levels.
