Karrasch has for years been offering the concept that the heart hinge, between T6-8, is of critical concern to health of the entire body.  He also believes that emotions get 'stuck' in various body segments.  This 6 hour day is dedicated to the idea that we can free emotions stuck in connective tissue as we free fascial holding; and that we can enhance fascial release by talking to emotional problems.  

Based in part on Karrasch's recent book "Freeing Emotions and Energy Through Myofascial Release" (Singing Dragon, London and Philadelphia, 2012) we spend a morning examining specific body parts and conditions and the emotional blockages they represent.  The afternoon segment offers specific tools to free the thoracic area and allow energy to flow to and through the heart and upper body.  Students will:

• Receive a glossary of physical conditions with corresponding emotional concerns
• Discuss how these conditions may be challenged with both physical and verbal work 
• Examine the chakra system and Oriental medicine as they relate to emotional states
• Learn psoas/diaphragm release to free the block between upper and lower chakras
• Learn to create client cues to sustain new-found heart hinge freedom

This course if for bodyworkers who are interested in taking their physical work to a new emotional realm, thus enhancing their effectiveness for clients and for themselves. 

Noah Karrasch is a certified Rolfer since 1986 and received advanced certification in 1991. Over the past 24 years he has developed his own style of work, CORE Bodywork. This deep tissue work focuses on client participation, communication, and the overriding concept that to elicit change on the outer person one must touch the CORE. Noah lives in Springfield, Missouri where he maintains a clinic. In East Central London he affiliates with the Wren Clinic. He is nationally certified as a continuing education provider in the US (NCBTMB) and teaches CORE Bodywork extensively in the Mid-western area of the country and for several schools in the UK.
